Background and Experience

My family and I moved to Cape Coral in December of 2013 from Pennsylvania. In 2010 we bought our house here as a result from an offer that we couldn’t refuse. So we had been planning the move since then. I am proud of where I come from but I must say that I love walking around in shorts and a tee shirt during the coldest times of the winter.

I started my construction career in 1977 when I proudly joined and served my country for five years in the United States Navy Seabees. The word Seabee is a play on words using the two letters C and B. It is an acronym for construction battalion. The mascot was a bee flying with a machine gun in one hand while doing construction work with the other. Anyway, after military training I took some college courses back home in Pennsylvania. But times were tough in 1982. Instead of finishing college I started working as a helper for home building crews and learning the trade. I even worked as a plumber’s apprentice for a time. Eventually I started to install underground utilities services like storm water management, water, sewer, and excavating for residential and commercial developments in addition to building houses.

Typically living in those areas that produce harsh winters if you worked outside you needed a secondary skill set to supplement your income. Many years I worked on road and bridge crews in residential and commercial as well as heavy highway construction development in the summer and home building and remodeling crews for general contractors in the winter.

After years of gray hair and back aches I decided to shift gears and translate my construction background into a much simpler business model. Being brutalized by frigid winters in Western and Central Pennsylvania made the decision to finally move to sunny SWFL in 2013 an easy one. Having gone through the required training  and continuing education coupled with experience, I feel as though this is what all those years of development was for. Let me put my construction experience and knowledge to work for you.

Inspection Reports

Reports are computer generated, easy to read and are available for review in most cases the same day or within 24 hours. Reports include narratives in addition to digital photos and videos to illustrate inspection details. It will include information such as model/serial numbers of your home’s components, filter types and sizes, maintenance suggestions as well as items/areas that are deficient or are a safety hazard. You will be notified once your report is available. You can use the customer log-in to access it online any time. You can then print it if you prefer but the reports are generally large and detailed so I recommend you view it online so you can zoom in on the pictures and/or view the videos. You could then create a PDF file to save to your desktop. You will continue to have access to your inspection report for five years after the inspection. You can also forward to a third party (family member, Mortgage Institution, etc.) from there.

Try the Repair Request List feature available from your inspection dashboard!

Customers and/or Real Estate Agents can create a Repair/Request list (or project list) directly from the inspection report and attach it to their repair addendum form! Real Estate Agents love it.
